Where are your chocolates made and where is Cocova from?

All our couverture chocolates are handcrafted in Malaysia, using premium natural ingredients. We are proud to be an Malaysian company and source our cacao beans primarily from Malaysia, as well as other farms within Asia.

Whenever possible, we strive our best to use Malaysian ingredients in our products.

Why do Cocova chocolates taste sour?

Our chocolates are made of all natural ingredients, and are not alkalised to retain the natural flavors and antioxidants from the cacao beans. Thus, you get to enjoy the natural acidity due to the fermentation process of the cacao beans, which helps to develop the flavors in our chocolates.

Why does my hot Cocova drink have lumps?

This means the milk has curdled, and was most likely heated too much during the preparation of the drink. Due to the natural acidity and high cacao butter content of Cocova chocolates, they tend to react quickly to milk proteins and curdling happens if the heat is too high. It is best to use low heat to prepare your hot Cocova, and to whisk it continuously to melt the buttons

How long do your products last?

Our chocolate buttons and chocolate coated nuts have a shelf life of 1 year, and all of our packaged products include a best before date on the packaging. To ensure you get the full Cocova flavour experience, we recommend enjoying them before that date.

Our cold-steeped chocolate drinks have a shelf life of 7 days in the refrigerator. We recommend consuming them within 3-5 days for best flavour and taste.

How should I store my chocolates?

Our chocolates are best stored at a temperature of 18-20°C, in a cool dry place.

In an air-conditioned location, storage within the pantry area in a cool dark cupboard is sufficient.

Otherwise, you may store them in the refrigerator, however the flavours of the chocolates may be compromised.

Is your packaging BPA-free?

Yes, all of our packaging is BPA and worry-free. They are also reusable and we strive to use sustainable packaging whenever we can.

My kids love chocolate. Which products do you recommend for childreN?

All our products are all natural, low in sugar and free of artificial ingredients and preservatives, so all our chocolates are great for kids!

However, our little customers have shown a special liking to Happy chocolate buttons, Playful Peca dark chocolate coated pecans, and Cheeky Hazel Butter chocolate hazelnut spread.

Do you have a brick and mortar shop? Where can I try out your products?

We also work with a list of retailers and café partners who carry our products, and participate in pop ups and events every now and then to bring Cocova to our fans. Follow our Instagram or Facebook accounts to be updated on our next pop up!

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION & DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

WHERE can I find the nutritional information for your products?

Cocova chocolates are handcrafted in Malaysia from the finest natural ingredients. You can find a full list of ingredients as well as specific nutritional & allergen information on our product pages under ‘Description’ and ‘Additional Information’. If you require further information, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Are your products halal-certified?

We are currently in the process of obtaining halal certification. Cocova’s products are 100% vegetarian, alcohol-free, and additive-free. They are produced and manufactured in a halal-certified facility based in Malaysia.

Are all your products vegan?

Yes, all our products are vegan EXCEPT for the cold-steeped chocolate drinks, which contain dairy. Some of our café partners carry non-dairy versions of our cold-steeped chocolate drinks, and you can find the list of our partners here.

Are you really 100% all natural?

Yes, we are! Our products do not contain any artificial ingredients, flavourings or preservatives. We also keep our processes to a minimum to retain the antioxidants from the cacao beans.

Are your products organic?

No, our products are not organic.

Is it possible for allergens to be present in your products?

Our chocolates are made of all natural ingredients, and contain only cocoa nibs, cocoa butter, and sugar. The percentage of cocoa, along with the origin, determines the taste and character of the chocolate. The higher the percentage of cocoa, the less sugar there is in the product.

What do the cocoa percentages in your product names mean?

All our products are all natural, low in sugar and free of artificial ingredients and preservatives, so all our chocolates are great for kids!

However, our little customers have shown a special liking to Happy chocolate buttons, Playful Peca dark chocolate coated pecans, and Cheeky Hazel Butter chocolate hazelnut spread.


SHIPPING

Where do you deliver?

We deliver our chocolate buttons and chocolate coated nuts throughout the whole of Malaysia, but our cold-steeped drinks are limited to delivery within Klang Valley for now.

What are the methods of delivery for Malaysian orders and processing time for orders?

For delivery of our chocolate buttons and chocolate coated nuts, we use 3rd party courier services which will take up to 3-5 business days for your order to be processed and shipped out.

For delivery of our cold-steeped drinks, we work with 3rd party on-demand delivery services as the drinks need to be kept chilled and delivered immediately.

How do I know if my orders have gone through successfully?

Once your order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation email with details of your order and an order number. If you have been charged for an order but haven’t received a confirmation email, please contact us at [email protected].

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been dispatched you will receive a confirmation e-mail with shipping details including an estimated delivery date or time, and your parcel tracking number. This e-mail will also include a tracking link for you to keep an eye on your chocolate delivery.

Can I add something to my order once it’s been placed?

We are happy to change or amend your order if the request is received before the order has been packed. We usually process orders within 1-2 business days so please call our Customer Service team at 010-2835183 or send us your details at [email protected]. You will need to pay for any price difference for the additional items. We will need to collect this payment via bank transfer over the phone.

Will my order be shipped right away?

Yes, most orders are ready for shipping within 1-2 business days, depending on the products you selected. Some orders may take additional time to prepare, so if you need your order urgently, please get in touch at 010-2835183 and share your order number with us.

I’ve placed my order but my shipping details are incorrect. How can I change my details?

We are happy to change or amend your shipping details if the request is received before your order has been packed. We usually process orders within 1-2 business days so please call our Customer Service team at 010-2835183 or send us your details at [email protected]

What if I am not home to receive my order?

We strongly recommend that you have your Cocova chocolates delivered to a location where someone can look after them – like your workplace or a friend’s or relative’s place.

As our chocolates are temperature-sensitive, we will manage the heat exposure as much as possible, but unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for any melting or damage after delivery.

I’ve received a wrong item / Something’s missing from my order.

Can I add a gift message to my order?

We can add a free personalised gift card to any order.

At checkout, under the heading ‘Ship to a Different Address?’ please add your personalised message in the field provided. We will add this message to a gift card and include in your delivery.

Can I send a gift anonymously?

If you would like to send your gift anonymously, make sure you don’t sign your name in your personalised message.

Your order confirmation will be sent via e-mail to your billing address, not with your chocolate, so unless you include your name in the personalised message your gift can remain anonymous.
